COVID-19 has changed workspaces for many of us. Of those nurses, the study found that those exposed to sunlight for 3 or more hours a day were shown to be much less stressed and even enjoyed their jobs more overall. That same principle can apply to a desk job. The more sunlight you’re exposed to, the less work stress will get to you.

Energy Boost

It’s hard to gather up the energy to be productive in the midst of a pandemic. This can lead to a slump in your work, especially when you’re not used to working from home. Exposure to natural sunlight helps to boost your energy and focus during the day. It can even help you sleep better at night because you’ve expended that energy, and better sleep at night will enable you to return to work refreshed the next day.

Motivation To Show Up

Okay, so you can’t exactly call in sick when you work from home. But on the other hand, when you work from home there’s no clock or set hours. It can be a struggle to actually get started working. But if you have a well-lit, beautiful work environment, you’ll be more motivated to spend time there, at least. And the more time you spend in your office, the more likely you’ll be to work. The sunlight streaming through your window could be just what you need to get the ball rolling and have a truly productive day.
